So this week we have found a lot of new people and have been super busy. We are still teaching Hampus and he is doing awesome!! We gave him a "Preach My Gospel" this past week. Speaking of him... so on Saturday we are in a lesson and the phone starts buzzing in my pocket... I look at it really quick and I see the area code 801... My first thought was... "oh, no... it's the church office calling me with some tragic news..." After our lesson I hurry and called back and turns out it was the church headquarters, but then the girl on the other side of the line started speaking Swedish. Haha it ended up just being a sister missionary from Salt Lake who has taught Hampus over the phone and wanted to see how things are going on our end.
On Wednesday we went over to Lynette's who is an inactive member from the U.S., who is married to a Swede. It was a lot of fun... After dinner she taught us how to make cakes and we each made our own. (pictures attached)
Thursday was fun! We went out by some potential investigators (who are Jehovah's Witnesses :)) I am sure you can only imagine how that went. I have to say, we did a pretty good job keeping up with them on their bible skills and are returning next week. After that we went tracting and we knocked on this door and they let us in! It was a couple from Turkey and their two daughters. They are strong orthodox Christians. We tried to teach the Restoration, but got a little stuck on teaching our beliefs that God and Jesus Christ are separate beings, since they believe contrary. There was just as much bible bashing here as there was with the Jehovah's Witnesses ;) Haha- they were super friendly though and welcomed us back! We were able to leave them with a Book of Mormon. That evening I was able to put my biking skills into work and we helped a member change her tire on her bike! After that, we went to the church and taught Costa with our branch president. It was an awesome lesson and the spirit was super strong. We found out that the day we contacted Costa, he had prayed for the first time in a very long time. "Ask and ye shall receive."
On Sunday I gave a talk in church. I spoke about the happiness we can receive by applying the basic principles of the gospel... Faith, Repentance, Baptism/Sacrament, the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the end. To me, these basic principles are a huge source of happiness in the gospel.
I love you all! Have a great week!!
